Context: Shower thoughts.

Main thoughtStream is Welfare State.

This is the idea that,
1. Government is just a contract amongst us as to how we should conduct ourselves.
2. We are responsible for our kin. (very basic in all religion, especially Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Oh?! Random Thought: blasphemy! Could this be the holy trinity? Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?! for some reason these names pop into my head Jake, Christ, and Akbar).
3. Therefore the government, which is just our agreement of how we conduct ourselves should include provisions to "take care" of our kin.

It is easy for me to see how I am responsible for my father, mom and sisters, and even my extended family. But when you extend that family further it gets a bit hazy.
However, from what I've read, seen, and heard repeated over and over, is that we are just ONE FAMILY.

It is a bit disconcerting then to see and read over and over how the agreement of how we conduct ourselves as a family should exclude and marginalized some of us.

A common theme I hear from some of my Family, is how we have enabled the laziness of a vast majority us through our contract/agreement/government.
I don't believe this. Everywhere I look I see people working very hard to live life correctly and raise their family. But even if the idea of general laziness is true, it still doesn't change the fact that we are obliged to take care of our kin whether they are industrious or lazy.

Of course, I can't keep paying for the drunken debauchery of my fourth cousin removed. However, I am obliged to help if he wants to build his house. I am obliged to help if he is sick and can't take care of himself anymore. I am obliged to share my knowledge and wealth when he wants to change his drunken ways and find a real job.

How is this translated into our agreement called government?
I think the usual slogans for these socialist ideas are:
Affordable housing,
Free public health care,
Community centers.

The Market is very efficient at done most things, but I don't want to make it the main mechanism of how we take care of ourselves, and I don't think taking care of ourselves only through "charitable organization" is very efficient.
