Endrun around copyright laws for music

"Sell" all your CDs on eBay. You've already made copies. Why do you need the physical CDs? It is an open market. You can sell your CDs at whatever price you want. Of course, music on-demand, on-line has already made this idea obsolete.


I think people are selling their entire collection on eBay. A quick check on eBay confirms that this is what people are doing, and the price range is big! The market still thinks that there is value in the physical CDs. I think soon, asking price will be "pay  for the shipping".


The demand will shrink as the market becomes saturated. All the people who collect CDs as some sort of artifact of history or in the hopes they will be able to sell it later as a "vintage" CD, will own what they want.


The supply will be in great excess to the demand of this small group of people.

Also, normal music loving people are buying entire collections for cheap, recording all the music and selling it back on eBay to recoup their money. They then repeat the process.


Again, this group of people will also quickly saturate. After a few purchasing and selling cycle, they will have had all the music they can ever listen to. Even a more practical group, such as music researchers and musicians, who would need this vast collection on hand to quickly explore ideas and themes, will also quickly become saturated.


So in the end, my end run isn't much of an end run.
