Books of my youth

these are the books of my childhood, which must have shaped me somehow since I can remember reading them: (from the top (and bottom) of my head)

preteen?
Encyclopedia Brown (children detective), a bunch of them.
The Black Stallion (Return, the son of, etc... I read most of them)
Lots of WWII child level books. (also learned to draw/copy alot of cool tanks, planes and guns from these)
Bunch of early USA space exploration child level books. (Mercury, Apollo)
the Xanth fantasy series (a BUNCH of them)
of course Lord of the Rings.
more fantasy but can't remember cuz they are all knockoffs of LOTR.

LOTS of comics, still have a box.

I thinks in High school, I only read the school books... Scarlet Letter, Candide etc...
Same for college... chemistry, organic chem, p chem, physics, calculus.

I remember the Sound and the Fury.

After college in Brentwood? Lot of Kurt Vonegut, cuz my roommate had them. only remember ice9.

Lots of Dean Koontz
Lots of Vietnam history books


Then in graduate school I started to read the classic, award winning, Sci-Fi books.
Also my bookclub (what a dork).

Startide Rising, Fire in the Deep, i robot, Flowers for Algernon
