Minor character speaks

uh... that would be me,

making a connection to a previous post about a minor character in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge's remaking of reality.

I suggested that most of us are minor characters too. We do most of the buildin, most of the killin, and certainly most of the dyin. (trying out the "-in" ending like Fafblog... HA, im sayin... HA)

Bill Gross at PIMCO Bond recalled, "An old and wise friend gave me some sage advice recently, “Be kind,” he said, “everyone you meet is fighting a battle."" (Mr. Gross then talk about how kind his wife is and where the bond market with likely be in the next few years)

I know Mr. Gross doesn't mean an actual, physical battle or fight but more a spiritual struggle. But on a macro level, yes, we minor characters are, everyday, fightin each other. Why?!

We're minor characters?! Maybe to some extent we all have a little delusion of grandeur within us. A little bit of the alpha male/female in us. It's natural and nature. But look at the context we've created for ourselves. Is is useful to dominate the guy in the cubicle next to me. Do I get an advantage genetically from any of this. And if not, then how will the evolution of our culture fix this? Do we all suddenly becom kind?

We make our reality (like the Matrix!). This is becoming more true with the acceleration of technology. And as the people who lived the old reality die, what new context will we find ourselves in. We, the in-betweeners. Will we be living in two reality? Are we living now in that hazy mist before the two separates? Is the separation then just the "dying off" of the old reality. The passing away of the actualities of past existances. (which to some seems more real, and perhaps was more real because we couldn't control that existance)

As the small few who are on the leftside of the bell curve recreate reality in a new image, how will the rest of us, the middle of the bell curve, the minor characters react? And is this why "everyone you meet is fighting a battle"? Minor-mid-curvers struggling to make the transition, and hopeless right-tailers clinging to the end. Do we just enjoy ourselves and wait to "dying off". Do we try to shape the new reality too? Should we stratagize when we have no gift for stratagy. Perhaps we should admit we need the man in black. Do you think it will work, or would it take a miracle?

It's getting late and I got a go buy some pork. Perhaps I shouldn't think and waste time so much. Perhaps I should just be kind. So it goes, so it goes.
