The argument is self evident. How many of us have thought the same thing.
The writer contrast the US stance in the Schiavo’s case and the war in Iraq.
Right-to-lifers need to look beyond their own borders
He ends with the following,
"If President Bush sincerely believes that Terri Schiavo did not deserve to die despite her grave plight, could an Iraqi have written a living will that would have been honoured?Such a will could have read like this:
To the President of the United States:
Although I have suffered badly from this evil dictator who is ruling my country, the bottom line is I don’t want to die. But I’m afraid I will if you send liberation troops and they cannot really differentiate between civilian and military targets. Moreover, I’m also afraid that if I survive your bombs, I could also be killed in the civil or guerrilla war that is sure to follow. I know your philosophy is that every life is precious, and no magnitude of suffering could warrant untimely death, so I just wish you would keep this in mind when it comes to people like us."
Most politicians are whores.
