The Natural

Remember that movie with Robert Redford?

He was a natural baseball player. A natural hitter AND pitcher. (Probably in our times he would have been shunted to one or the other.)

But I want to relate the movie to population statistics.
Let's assume that for a certain trait, such as throwing a ball, or being quick with numbers, or being visual acute, or having perfect pitch, that within the world population the distribution is Gaussian.
(probably true for most, but not all traits.)

Then as a individual I am a integration of overlapping Gaussian distributions.

What a cold and sterile concept to apply to humanity.

But if it can be used to model human group/social behavior then use it.

Use it how? To create a cold, sterile, semi-organic consciousness?

I have to think about it some more.
